FedEx Express wishes to expand operation in Vietnam: CEO
The group's President and CEO Richard W.Smith is on a working visit to Vietnam.
FedEx Express expects to expand operation in Vietnam, said President and CEO of the US express delivery services Richard W.Smith during his meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi on June 6, the Government News has reported.
After 30 years of operation in Vietnam, the country has become the corporation’s key market in Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa with 36 flights to and from Vietnam operated weekly, according to the FedEx Express leader.
He noted that the corporation wants to maintain its logistics activities at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.
PM Chinh stressed that Vietnam continues developing infrastructures and logistics to reduce expenditures and costs for businesses, committing to creating favorable conditions for enterprises, including those from the US to launch long-term, sustainable and effective operation in the country.
He suggested that the group consider increasing the number of flights and the scale of cargo transport, and supporting Vietnam’s development of its airport and logistics networks as well as expanding partnerships and sharing expertise with Vietnamese partners in managing transport and logistics services and offering fast delivery services in global supply chains.
