Northern Hai Phong city will have five main seaport zones with 70-74 wharfs under a detailed national seaport planning for 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, which has been approved recently by the Prime Minister.
The city’s seaports are expected to handle over 215 million tons of cargo and 22,800 passengers each year.
The five seaport zones include Lach Huyen, Dinh Vu, Cam river – Pha Rung, Nam Do Son – Van Uc and Bach Long Vi.
Under the planning for seaports across Vietnam, there are five groups of seaports. Hai Phong is listed in the first group (of those located in the northern region of the country) including five seaports in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binh.
