Hai Phong seeks business opportunities with Japanese group

Authorities in the northern port city of Hai Phong have worked with leaders from Japan’s Sojitz Group and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to discuss business and investment opportunities during their ongoing visit to Japan.

At a working session with leaders from the Sojitz Group on June 15, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau introduced the city’s potential, advantages, and investment attraction policies.

Hai Phong welcomes foreign investors and commits to continue improving its business and investment environment, develop infrastructure, and boost human resources quality.

He proposed the Group visit the city to seek investment opportunities and invited it to invest in fields of its strength, such as the development of industrial parks, seaports, and healthcare.

Director General of Soijtz, Fujimoto Masayoshi, said the group has paid special attention to Hai Phong and wants to lay a firm foundation for cooperation with the city in the future.

Later on the same day, the Hai Phong authorities held a working session with JICA at its headquarters in Tokyo.

Japan ranks second in project numbers and capital among 42 countries and territories investing in the city.
