Hai Phong sets higher digitization targets than national average
All State bodies from the city to the commune level in Hai Phong have applied digital signatures and all documents are transmitted online.
Viewing digital transformation as a driving force of growth, northern Hai Phong city has set digitization targets that are higher than the average in Vietnam, Deputy Chairman of the Hai Phong City People’s Committee Hoang Minh Cuong told a workshop on digital transformation entitled “Hai Phong - Comprehensive digitization: Change - transform - move to breakthroughs, becoming a new technology center”.
The city’s digital infrastructure has been enhanced, he said, with the number of digital transformer stations increasing by 12 per cent and the city’s mobile speed jumping 20 ranks.
MobiFone has installed a data center in Duong Kinh district while the two other mobile service providers, Viettel and Vinaphone, have also increased their 5G base stations in the city center.
Hai Phong’s online public services have developed rapidly. The national public service portal rated its online public services as having the highest rate of on-time settlements in the country, at over 98 per cent.

Up to 99.65 per cent of businesses have applied e-customs services and all hospitals have put hospital management software into operation.
Regarding marine economic development, the city has piloted 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT) technology and services in port and logistics operations, and installed two pilot 5G base transceiver stations at Tan Vu and Dinh Vu Ports.
