Hanoi attracts over $866mln in FDI in January
Ten new FDI projects licensed in the first month of the year.
Hanoi attracted $866.8 million in FDI during January, according to the municipal Department of Planning and Investment.
It licensed 10 new projects with total investment capital of $859.4 million, the Cong Thuong (Industry and Trade) online newspaper has reported.
Meanwhile, $5.1 million was added to six existing projects, and $2.3 million spent in seven transactions to contribute capital to or buy shares of local businesses.
Last month, 2,529 new enterprises were established in the city with total registered capital of VND35.4 trillion ($1.4 billion), up 54 per cent year-on-year in volume and 2.4 fold in value.
There were 3,660 existing enterprises resuming operations in January, a year-on-year rise of 50 per cent.
