HCMC establishes new management authority for export processing and industrial zones

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has signed Prime Ministerial Decision No. 1625/QD -TTg, dated July 28, 2025, on the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority, according to a report from the Government News.

The new Authority of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority will be established as a result of the merger  between the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Industrial Zones Authority, the Binh Duong Industrial Zones Authority, and the former Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority, after the merger of the former Ho Chi Minh City and the two former neighboring provinces of Ba Ria- Vung Tau and Binh Duong.

The Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority is an agency under the city People's Committee.

It performs the function of direct State management over export processing zones (EPZs) and industrial zones (IZs) in the city. It also manages and provides public administrative services and other support services related to investment, production, and business activities for enterprises within these zones, in accordance with the law.
