HCMC Innovation and Startup Week focuses on sustainability
The event, starting from December 16, showcases cutting-edge products and fostering vital connections for startups, businesses, and technology corporations.
Ho Chi Minh City is hosting its annual Innovation and Startup Week (WHISE 2024) from December 16-22, themed “Innovation and Startup for Sustainable Development”, reported the national radio broadcaster Voice of Vietnam.
The event has drawn over 150 exhibitors, including international partners, showcasing cutting-edge products and fostering vital connections for startups, businesses, and technology corporations.
"The city's startup ecosystem has seen continuous growth, and this week underscores the attractiveness of our environment for innovation and startups," said Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee.
She emphasized the city's commitment to supporting the innovation community and highlighted the recently established innovation center as a focal point for the ecosystem.
WHISE 2024 features a robust program, including international forums on entrepreneurial universities, workshops on sustainable development, and discussions on AI applications in education technology (December 17-18).
The week will also host the I-Star 2024 Awards, recognizing outstanding projects in areas like sustainable development, cultural industries, and artificial intelligence, as well as the 2nd annual Circuit Design Competition for Smart Cities.
