Upward trend continued in apartment selling prices, particularly in Hanoi and HCM City.

Vietnam recorded an estimated 157,021 housing transactions in the second quarter of this year, representing a 16.6% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Construction.

The growth was driven largely by a surge in land plot transactions, which rose by 21.3% year-on-year. Transactions involving apartments and individual houses also saw a more modest rise of 2.61%.

The report noted a continued upward trend in apartment selling prices, particularly in major urban centers such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In Hanoi, apartment prices hit a decade-high in the second quarter, reaching VND80 million ($3,041) per square meter, a 5.6% increase over the previous quarter and a sharp 33% rise year-on-year.

In Ho Chi Minh City, average apartment prices climbed to VND89 million ($3,384) per square meter.
