The second turbine of the Ialy Hydropower Plant expansion project was successfully connected to the national power grid on December 13.

The plant is located in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai.

The Ialy Hydropower Plant expansion project is a national key project that began construction in mid-2021.

The expansion has a design capacity of 360 MWs, consisting of two turbines.

When operational, the facility will increase power generation capacity for the national power grid, especially during peak hours. It will optimize water resource utilization and increase average annual power generation by approximately 233 million kWh per year.

The first turbine was connected to the national grid on November 26 this year.
