Labor market shows sign of recovery
The number of employed workers reaching 51.4 million.
The labor market continued to recover in the first half of the year and workers’ income was improved, according to the latest report from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The number of employed workers reached 51.4 million, up 0.38% year-on-year. Of which, 19.7 million laborers work in urban areas and 31.7 million laborers work in rural areas.
Vietnam’s labor force (aged 15 and above) was estimated at 52.5 million people in the first half of the year, an increase of 196,600 people year-on-year.
The rate of trained workers increased to 28.1% in the second quarter of 2024 from 27% in 2023.
The average monthly income of Vietnamese workers in the first six months of the year stood at VND7.5 million ($295), a year-on-year increase of nearly 7.4%.
