Longest tunnel of North-South expressway expected for completion in December

The longest tunnel of the North-South Expressway, which is part of the Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon section (in the country's central region), is expected for completion this December, according to the investor of the expressway section.

The tunnel is 3,200 m long. The digging of the tunnel is scheduled for completion in April.

Two other tunnels of the Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon section are projected to complete in June 2025.

The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section has a total length of 88 km, connecting the south-central coastal province of Quang Ngai with the neighboring  Binh Dinh province.

Total investment capital is estimated at over VND20.4 trillion ($864 million).

The expressway section was designed to have four lanes, allowing a maximum speed of 80 kph.
