Many localities fulfil tourism targets ahead of schedule

Some localities have registered a significant growth in tourism, fulfilling the yearly targets ahead of schedule.

South-central Ninh Thuan province welcomed over 3.2 million visitors in the first nine months of the year, equivalent to 100.1% of the annual target, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism.

Among the visitors. 87,000 were foreigners.

Total tourism revenue was estimated at over VND3.66 trillion ($147 million).

Meanwhile, south-central Khanh Hoa province welcomed 9 million tourists, fulfilling the yearly target. There were 3.6 million foreign holiday makers, exceeding 20% of the annual goal. Total tourism revenue reached over VND44 trillion ($1.76 billion).

Central Thanh Hoa province served nearly 14.5 million tourists in the nine-month period, exceeding 4.7% of the yearly target, figures from the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism show.

Total tourism turnover amounted to VND32 trillion (1.28 billion), equivalent to 98.6% of the annual target.

In the Jan-Sept period, over 8 million tourists visited central Binh Dinh province, equal to 147% of the yearly target. Total tourism revenue reached nearly VND22.8 trillion ($916 million), a year-on-year growth of 57%.
