MoT to accelerate investment disbursement
Disbursement on the agenda at the Ministry of Transport’s October 28 meeting.
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) plans to speed up the disbursement of investment capital in the time to come with the aim of reaching the annual plan, while viewing the quality of the process as the top priority.
In the first ten months of this year, MoT disbursed VND29.114 trillion ($1.29 billion) in capital, equal to 67.1 per cent of the plan. From now until January 31, 2022, it plans to disburse some VND14.259 trillion ($627.33 million).
In October, it approved seven projects and work items with a total value of VND1.683 trillion ($74.12 million). In the first ten months, 43 projects and work items were approved with a total value of VND14.987 trillion ($660.17 million).
However, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The noted that there are certain shortcomings in the process. “Disbursement of public investment capital is still weak, the reopening of passenger transport activities is still lacking in some respects, and preparations for projects and works regarding the construction of e-Government is still slow,” the Minister pointed out.
He asked every unit to study the limitations and overcome them so that tasks in 2022 can be completed.
With the year coming to a close, MoT’s Chief of Office Nguyen Tri Duc emphasized that it will focus on and accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, especially ODA projects, ensuring quality and progress according to the Prime Minister’s direction at the National Online Conference on accelerating disbursement this year.
MoT will also strive to overcome difficulties and obstacles to speed up project construction, especially key national projects and those scheduled for completion this year.
