NA approves special policies to accelerate urban railway projects

The National Assembly (NA) approved a resolution on piloting specific mechanisms and policies for the development of urban railway networks in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on February 19.

The resolution is aimed at tackling obstacles in mechanisms and policies to accelerate the implementation of urban railway projects, meeting public transport demand and contributing to the development of sustainable green urban development.

Under the resolution, specific and special policy groups include capital mobilization; investment implementation order and procedures; urban development under the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) model; railway industry development, technology transfer and human resources training; construction materials and waste disposal policies; and regulations exclusive for HCM City.
