The figure represents a remarkable 113% increase compared to the same period last year and already achieving nearly 62% of the full-year goal.

In the first six months of 2025, Nghe An's tourism sector recorded impressive growth, welcoming approximately 6.2 million visitors. Of these, around 3.82 million were overnight guests, fulfilling 52% of the province's annual target.

Direct revenue from tourism activities is estimated at over VND7.30 trillion (over $279 million), a remarkable 113% increase compared to the same period last year and already achieving nearly 62% of the full-year goal.

Total spending by tourists, including auxiliary services, is estimated at nearly VND18.843 trillion (nearly $720.6 million), showcasing the sector's significant rebound following the prolonged impact of the pandemic.

Notably, while the number of international visitors remains modest at around 50,800 (a 5% year-on-year increase, reaching 39% of the annual plan), this figure is still considered a positive signal.

It comes amidst a global market that has not fully recovered and faces increasingly fierce competition. This area is also seen as having significant potential for future growth.

According to the Provincial Department of Tourism, the strong first-half results were driven by the synchronized implementation of promotional campaigns, investment initiatives, and various organized events.
