Northern Bac Ninh province becomes hotspot for semiconductor investment
In January, FDI enterprises invested in 39 provinces and cities across the country, with Bac Ninh leading the way, attracting a registered capital of $1.42 billion.

In the early months of 2025, Bac Ninh continues to assert its leading position in attracting high-quality foreign direct investment (FDI), with the semiconductor industry being one of the key sectors.
According to the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Foreign Investment Agency, total registered FDI capital in Vietnam reached approximately $4.33 billion in January, an year-on-year increase of 46.8%.
In the period, FDI enterprises have invested in 39 provinces and cities across the country, with Bac Ninh leading the way in terms of capital, attracting registered capital of $1.42 billion. The figure accounts for 32.2% of the total and is six times higher than the same month last year.
In the second quarter of this year, the manufacturing plant of Cooler Master Vietnam Co., Ltd. (located in Gia Binh Industrial Park) – a supplier of components for Nvidia Corporation – is expected to officially commence operations. Following Nvidia’s commitment to invest in Vietnam, Cooler Master Vietnam increased its investment in Bac Ninh by $125 million, bringing the total investment capital to $200 million.
Amkor Technology Group aims to make its semiconductor chip manufacturing plant in Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park the group's largest semiconductor chip manufacturing center in the world. According to the environmental impact assessment report of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd., the company will operate the initial investment and continue to expand investment in 2025.
Goertek Group is currently investing in four projects in Bac Ninh's industrial parks, with a total registered capital of $1.3 billion. In 2025, Goertek plans to invest in a new project, bringing foreign experts and advanced technology to Vietnam, and recruiting approximately 60,000 domestic workers.
