PM orders social housing conference before mid-February

The Prime Minister's Directive No 03/CT-TTg, issued recently, mandated a national conference on promoting social housing and ensuring the safe and healthy development of the real estate market.

This conference is to be held before February 15, 2025, as part of the directive's focus on key tasks following the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

The directive required ministries, agencies, localities, organizations, and individuals to immediately implement key tasks according to their assigned functions, tasks, and powers.

The Ministry of Construction was tasked with coordinating with relevant agencies to expedite real estate and social housing project implementation by guiding localities in overcoming obstacles; promoting the safe, healthy, and sustainable development of the real estate market; and collaborating with the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to ensure the effective deployment of the VND145 trillion ($5.7 billion) credit package for social housing.

Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment was tasked with coordinating with agencies and localities to strengthen inspections and examinations related to land valuation, issuance of land price lists, compensation, site clearance, and land use right auctions; and promptly correct, prevent, and strictly handle violations, especially acts of taking advantage of land use right auctions for profit and market manipulation.

It was urged to complete and submit the Implementation Plan and organize the implementation of the Law on Geology and Minerals to the Prime Minister; and complete and put into operation the land information system and the centralized, unified, multi-purpose land database, providing online public services in the field of land management in urban areas.
