Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has requested relevant ministries and agencies to tackle obstacles to accelerate renewable energy projects to prevent wastefulness and ensure electricity for development.
Chairing a hybrid conference on announcing and implementing the Government’s resolution on removing bottlenecks for the projects on December 12, PM Chinh said facilitating these projects will also help to meet electricity demand for socio-economic development.
The PM asked ministries, sectors and localities to take immediate actions with full responsibility to clear all hurdles for the renewable energy projects, stressing the need for transparency and accountability at every level of governance.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, by the end of 2023, renewable sources, including wind and solar, generated 21,664 megawatts, equivalent to 27% of the national power system.
