Power supply resumed for 99% of typhoon-affected customers
Power restored for more than 6 million affected customers, as of September 17.
The Vietnam Electricity (EVN) restored power supply for over 6.03 million out of 6.1 million customers affected by Typhoon Yagi and subsequent flooding as of September 17, equivalent to 99%, according to the group’s announcement.
As many as 1,640 out of the 1,678 medium-voltage power lines that experienced outages due to the typhoon had been resumed.
Overall power restoration efforts in the affected areas are nearly complete.
EVN units in northern Vietnam are continuing to mobilise personnel, vehicles, and equipment to repair the damage caused by the storm and ensure full power restoration to the remainders as soon as possible.
The EVN also announced that the 500kV power grid has fully recovered, with all 14 incidents resolved.
The 220kV power grid has had all 10 transformer station incidents and 38 out of 40 power line incidents fixed. Meanwhile, the 110kV grid has seen 101 out of 104 transformer station failures and 186 out of 190 line outages addressed.
