Project approved to develop Quang Nam as medicinal herb center, highlighting Ngoc Linh Ginseng

South-central Quang Nam Province is set to become a hub for the medicinal herb industry, with Ngoc Linh Ginseng at its core, under the Prime Minister's Decision No. 463/QĐ-TTg signed by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long on February 28.

The project seeks to promote the potential of the national product, Ngoc Linh Ginseng, and other strong medicinal herbs in the area, contributing to making Vietnam's medicinal herb industry a high-value commodity production industry.

Specifically, during the period 2025 - 2035, Quang Nam will maintain and develop a suitable raw material area, prioritize the development of Ngoc Linh Ginseng and other medicinal herbs with advantages and economic value, identify consumption markets, and ensure compatibility with the ecology of each locality.

The project will form and develop a production chain linking seed production, cultivation, processing, production, and consumption of medicinal herb products that comply with the Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP-WHO) principles and the World Health Organization standards.

From 2036 - 2045, the province will complete a synchronized and modern infrastructure system to meet the requirements of the medicinal herb industry in the area.

The project will diversify medicinal herb products and products derived from medicinal herbs, with Ngoc Linh Ginseng as the mainstay, ensuring quality that meets domestic consumption requirements and participating in the global medicinal herb industry value chain, with many high-value exported products.
