Quang Ninh and Guangxi to partner on smart agriculture, disease control
A key aspect of the agreement is the joint effort to develop digital agriculture

In a meeting held on February 20 in Ha Long City, representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of northern Quang Ninh Province, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, discussed avenues for collaboration in the field of smart agriculture.
Both sides agreed to put in a joint effort to develop digital agriculture. This includes researching and experimenting with key technologies, enhancing technological innovation capabilities, and cooperating in establishing smart agricultural farms in border areas. The digitization of production, processing, agricultural product circulation, management, and supervision will also be a focus.
They also reached an agreement to pool resources for joint research focused on animal disease diagnosis and testing. Additionally, they aim to enhance the effectiveness of the information exchange and communication mechanisms between veterinary and animal quarantine agencies on both sides.
Annually, the two parties will exchange information regarding the import and export of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products. They also plan to alternately host forums to facilitate trade connections for these goods through the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) border gate pairs. This initiative is expected to bolster exchanges, promote technological advancements, and enhance the trade promotion capacity of agricultural products from Quang Ninh Province.
Furthermore, the collaboration will extend to the bilateral cooperation in research and production of shellfish breeds, the transfer of aquaculture technology using composite tanks, and industrial marine aquaculture technology. Both sides will support the exchange of information and agricultural machinery and equipment for businesses, agricultural cooperatives, and residents in rural, mountainous, and island areas of Quang Ninh Province.
