Thanks to remarkable achievements in business operations and technological development as well as significant contributions to sustainable growth around the world in general and in Vietnam in particular, Signify Vietnam was awarded a Golden Dragon Award as the First Lighting Company to Achieve Carbon Neutrality 2022-2023 from Vietnam Economic Times (VET), a sister publication of VnEconomy. This is the second consecutive year the company has picked up the award.
Headquartered in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, Signify is a global market leader with recognized expertise in the development, manufacture, and sale of innovative, energy-efficient lighting products, systems, and services. With more than 35,000 employees, a presence in 70 countries and territories, and sales covering the globe, the company’s purpose is to unlock the extraordinary potential of lighting for brighter lives and a better world.
With continuous efforts over the past 130 years, Signify has pioneered many key breakthroughs in lighting and been a driving force behind several leading technological innovations. In recent years, through its intensive investments in research and development (R&D) for LED lighting technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT)-based smart lighting solutions, the company has ensured its position as industry leader in connected lighting and become the lighting company for IoT. Calling for a switch to LED lighting together with IoT capabilities, the Green Switch program will not only speed up sustainable growth but also help bring a smart future closer to reality.
According to its 2022 annual report, Signify recorded sales of €7.5 billion ($8.16 billion) during the year, of which sales from connected lighting and growth platforms grew to almost €2 billion ($2.17 billion). The company increased its total connected light points to 114 million globally. Investment in IoT is also bearing fruit, with it now having surpassed 100 million IoT-connected devices. Other innovative and smart lighting solutions, such as WiZ, WiZ Pro, Philips Hue, 3D printed lighting, and agricultural lighting continued to be enhanced and expanded.
In Vietnam, through the “#PowerOfTwo” initiative, Signify has acted as a bridge for strategic partnerships between local partners and businesses in the field of professional lighting, providing them with assistance and new opportunities to efficiently approach the lighting market, especially in the segments of office, factory, retail, sport, recreation, architectural beautification, and urban landscapes. Signify has also launched the Philips Installer Club to support distributors, resellers, contractors, and professional workers.
