Solutions needed to tap potential of herbal medicine industry

Experts and businesses will discuss solutions to access the potential of the herbal medicine industry for further development at a roundtable to open in Hanoi on July 27.

With the theme “Unlocking the gold mine of herbal medicine”, the roundtable is being organized by VnEconomy / Vietnam Economic Times.

Vietnam is one of 15 countries listed on the global map of herbal medicine due to its diverse flora and fauna, with many types of valuable medicinal plants with broad use and economic value.

However, this gold mine has yet to be fully tapped due to limitations and difficulties in the process of cultivation, processing, and developing products. Illegal imports and products of unclear origins have also had a negative effect.

The roundtable is expected to identify effective solutions to help further promote the industry.
