Thanks to large volumes of cash going into the stock market and a record number of new accounts being opened, securities companies posted a successful 2021. Many reported record profits. Of note, Agriseco’s after-tax profit increased four-fold compared to 2020 and more than double the figure posted by BVSC.

SSI Securities has assessed that food and beverage (F&B) stocks will recover and grow in 2022 thanks to the recovery of the economy, changes in consumer preferences, and the development of new modern trade channels. Certain stocks, however, will recover to below pre-pandemic levels, SSI added.

While other securities companies have assessed that the securities market will be better in 2022 than in 2021, SSI Research believes that 2022 will not be an easy year for the market. It predicts that profit growth of listed companies will not be high in the first half but will improve in the second half.
