Thanh Hoa approves high-rise pig farming project
Multi-story pig farming buildings save on land and protect the environment.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has given the green light to the Xuan Thien Group investing in nine high-tech farming projects in the north-central province’s Ngoc Lac district.
The group plans to build a multi-story pig farming complex, consisting of nine buildings of six to ten stories with an average floor space of 7,500 sq m each for indoor pig raising.
It said that raising pigs in high-rise buildings will help improve the efficiency of land use compared to traditional methods and better manage environmental pollution and disease. The farming process will use advanced technology to protect the environment, according to the company.
This method has been successful in countries such as China, the company said, which has built nearly 5,000 high-rise buildings to raise pigs, bringing in high economic efficiency and helping protect the surrounding environment.
