Thanh Hoa welcomes 6.7 mln tourists in 5M

Central Thanh Hoa province welcomed over 1.81 million tourists in May, including 84,500 foreign visitors, up 17.1% and 20.4% year-on-year, respectively, according to local authorities.

The figures bring the total number of tourists visiting the province in the first five months of this year to nearly 6.77 million, soaring 16.8% compared to the same period in 2023.

Of which, international holiday-makers were estimated at 142,500, surging 19% year-on-year.

Total tourism revenue during the five-month period reached over VND11.88 trillion ($466 million), a year-on-year rise of 30.8%.

Thanh Hoa targets to welcome 13.8 million tourists in 2024.

To fulfill the target, the province has taken such measures as developing new tourism products, organizing tourism promotion programs and strengthening cooperation with other localities to expand markets.
