The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap hosts pangasius fish festival
Dong Thap, along with An Giang, Can Tho, Ben Tre, and Vinh Long provinces, is a major producer of pangasius fish in the Mekong Delta.
The Dong Thap Pangasius Fish Festival 2024, themed "Dong Thap Pangasius Fish - A Journey of Green, A Value of Green," will be held on November 16 and 17 in Hong Ngu City of the Mekong Delta's Dong Thap Province, the Voice of Vietnam reported.
The festival will bring together key stakeholders in the pangasius fish industry, including representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, tra fish producing localities in the Mekong Delta, including An Giang, Can Tho, Vinh Long and Ben Tre, togerther with associations, businesses, cooperatives, and farmers.
The event will feature a Border Trade Promotion Fair, a Pangasius Fish Culinary Contest, an exhibition of OCOP products, a traditional Pangasius Fish cultural night, and a conference to review the industry's performance and discuss future strategies.
Dong Thap, along with An Giang, Can Tho, Ben Tre, and Vinh Long provinces, is a major producer of pangasius fish in the Mekong Delta. The region boasts numerous processing facilities equipped with modern technology to meet international standards.
Vietnam's pangasius fish exports reached nearly $1.5 billion in the first nine months of 2024. The industry is poised for further growth, especially as the year-end demand increases.
