Tourism and railway sectors sign cooperation deal
The agreement expected to improve services and experience for tourists.
The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism and the Vietnam Railway Corporation on July 9 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate in promoting rail tourism during the 2024-2030 periods.
Under the MoU, the two sides will increase communications to promote Vietnamese tourism and the railway system; coordinate in organizing tourism fairs and conferences; build program to promote tourism activities by railways; and boost digital transformation to improve services and experience for tourists.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Sports, Culture and Tourism Ho An Phong said tourism is related to many sectors of the economy, including transport.
Tourism development is closely linked with the development of the transport system, including railways, he said. The signing of the MoU will open up many opportunities to promote sustainable tourism development.
He proposed the two sides to take measures to improve tourism services and experience of tourists, and build new and unique tourism products to attract more visitors.
Vietnam has over 3,000 km of railways, crossing 34 provinces and cities.
