Transport ministry asks to accelerate construction of rest stops along North-South expressway
Construction of eight rest stops required to complete before December 31 this year.
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has asked authorities of relevant localities to coordinate to accelerate investment in building eight rest stops along the eastern North-South expressway project.
The People’s Committees of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Dong Nai provinces in the central and southern regions were instructed to coordinate with the Vietnam Department of Expressways under the MoT, project management boards and investors to urgently complete related procedures and boost land clearance and compensation tasks to build the rest stops as scheduled following the direction of the Prime Minister.
The MoT said all 11 sub-projects of the first phase of the Eastern North-South Expressway were completed and put into operation so the construction of the rest stops along the route is necessary to ensure safety for drivers.
The ministry set the target of completing the eight rest stops before December 31 this year.
