Vietnam aims to support 1,200 elderly entrepreneurs by 2030

By 2030, the goal is to have 50% of elderly people proficient in basic digital skills, including online public services, online shopping, online payments, cybersecurity.

The Government has set goals for the period 2025 - 2030, aiming to support at least 1,260 elderly individuals in starting businesses, create 500 elderly entrepreneurship models, and generate at least 100,000 jobs through these initiatives.

This is one of the key objectives of the project "Elderly People Participating in Promoting Digital Transformation, Green Transition, Entrepreneurship, and Job Creation," approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No 379/QĐ-TTg.

The overall objective of the project is to raise awareness among society and  governments at all levels about the position and role of elderly people. It aims to foster awareness and aspiration among officials and members of the Party, and elderly people regarding the Party's guidelines and State laws concerning the participation of elderly people in promoting digital transformation, green transition, entrepreneurship, and job creation in the new development phase.

B2030, the goal is to have 50% of elderly people proficient in basic digital skills, including online public services, online shopping, online payments, cybersecurity, and using other digital platforms according to the specific characteristics of each locality.

Additionally, the project aims to plant at least 100 million trees, with each province having at least five elderly-led models for collecting and sorting waste at the source, and three models for organic agriculture and circular economy.
