In 2025, apart from traditional overseas labor markets, Vietnam will develop and expand markets with high incomes that are suitable for the qualifications and skills of Vietnamese workers.

According to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, these markets include Australia, Canada, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Finland.

The Department of Overseas Labor Management under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs stated that in 2024, the total number of Vietnamese workers going abroad was 158,588 (52,898 female workers), reaching 126.9% of the annual plan (125,000 workers).

The number of workers going abroad in the past year was also equal to 99.13% compared to 2023.

This result was achieved thanks to maintaining the stability of traditional markets. In particular, Japan has maintained its leading position for many years in receiving Vietnamese workers, with 71,518 workers (30,295 female workers) throughout the year.

Following Japan are Taiwan (China), South Korea, China, Hungary, Singapore, Romania, and Poland, among others.

Over the past period, Vietnam has sent an average of about 150,000 workers to 40 overseas markets each year to work in various jobs and industries.
