Vietnam, Japan collaborate to boost semiconductor industry
The collaboration would equip Vietnamese professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to compete globally.
A scientific seminar titled "Innovation and Development of Semiconductor Human Resources in Vietnam - Japan" was held on October 29 in Fukuoka, Japan.
The event aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two nations in the semiconductor industry, fostering technology transfer and talent development, the Voice of Vietnam reported.
Ms. Vu Chi Mai, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, emphasized the critical role of semiconductors in modern industries and highlighted the need for innovation to drive Vietnam's semiconductor sector. She expressed hope that the collaboration would equip Vietnamese professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to compete globally.
Dr. Tanimoto Jun, Executive Vice President of Kyushu University, underscored the strategic importance of the semiconductor industry and the potential for collaboration between Japan and Vietnam.
He highlighted the growing number of Vietnamese students and researchers pursuing semiconductor studies at Kyushu University, which will strengthen the bilateral partnership in this field.
Kyushu region in general and Fukuoka prefecture have a strong semiconductor industry with about 1,000 companies involved in various aspects of semiconductor manufacturing.
