Vietnam named among top 10 safest countries in Asia

Vietnam ranked eighth among the top 10 safest countries in Asia in 2024, according to the New York-based International Organization Best Diplomats, the Government News has reported.

The 10 countries honored by Best Diplomats come under the spotlight due to their low crime rates, political stability, and secure environment.

The organization hailed Vietnam for its beauty, rich culture, and delicious cuisine.

This year sees Vietnam's peace index stand at 1.745. The country's crime index score of 41.8 and safety index score of 58.2 further reinforce its reputation as a safe place to visit.

New York-based international organization Best Diplomats serves as a platform for young leaders to exchange ideas and resolve the most challenging global issues.

Vietnam welcomed nearly 10 million foreign tourists in the first seven months of the year, up 51% compared to the same period last year, figures from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam show.
