According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s semiannual report, released in November 2024, Vietnam was named in the Monitoring List along with China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, and Germany.
At the plenary session of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits which opened in Vientiane on October 9, PM Pham Minh Chinh highlighted resilience and strategic autonomy as foundations for ASEAN to stand firm amidst all fluctuations and overcome any challenges.
