According to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s semiannual report, released in November 2024, Vietnam was named in the Monitoring List along with China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, and Germany.
During their meeting on September 25, the two leaders expressed their delight over the outcomes of the Vietnam - US comprehensive strategic partnership after one year of establishment.
Vietnam's economic growth is forecasted to reach 6% in 2024 and slightly increase to 6.2% in 2025, while inflation is expected to remain stable at 4% in both years.
The typhoon's impact is expected to be felt more clearly in the northern regions towards the end of the third quarter and the start of fourth quarter, leading to reduced output and damage to manufacturing, agriculture, and service facilities.
