The program "Essence of Craft Villages and Regional Specialties 2024" takes place over four days from December 12 to 15.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on December 12, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee, said "This is an annual event aimed at strengthening socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and other localities across the country, consolidating regional linkages, and promoting the synchronized and sustainable development of localities."
According to Mr. Vo Thanh Son, Director of the Tourism Promotion Center, under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ben Tre province, the development of craft villages in rural areas is a solution to help increase people's incomes. However, most craft villages still have limitations in their capacity to promote and market their products.
Leveraging its role as a economic hub of the country, Ho Chi Minh City continues to promote distribution, consumption, and import-export activities within the national trade and investment connection chain, as well as globally, with a wide variety of rich and diverse trade and investment promotion activities.
The event also creates opportunities to boost consumption, build brands, and expand markets for Vietnamese products, paving the way for Vietnamese products to be exported, improving their quality and value, and meeting global standards.
