Viettel and Korea Telecom sign deal on AI transformation in Vietnam

Vietnam’s telecom giant Viettel has signed a strategic partnership agreement with KT, one of South Korea’s leading telecom carriers, to advance digital transformation based on AI in Vietnam.

Under the agreement signed in Hanoi on May 26, Viettel and KT will develop AI solutions tailored to Vietnam’s conditions, while accelerating joint global business expansion.

The two sides will work closely together to develop and deploy digital technology platforms, AI ecosystems, and data infrastructure to support AI transformation in Vietnam.

The two sides will build a dedicated AI data center and GPU (graphics processing unit) server clusters; and develop a global development center in Hanoi to nurture high-quality AI transformation talents.

According to the Korea Herald, the deal is valued at approximately 130 billion won ($94 million), marking a significant step in KT’s efforts to lead AI innovation across the Southeast Asia.
