Viettel IDC and Saigon Asset Management (SAM) have signed a strategic agreement to enhance data center capabilities and cloud services for the Vietnamese and international markets.

SAM will support Viettel IDC to bolster Vietnam’s digital scene and introduce advanced cloud computing services to support local and international organizations in Vietnam with their computing requirements.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thai, Deputy Director of Viettel IDC, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and market growth. “The market expertise SAM brings to the table, combined with Viettel IDC’s infrastructure capabilities, is expected to drive significant domestic and international expansion,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mr. Jens Andreassen, SAM’s Director of Technology Investments, is excited to have the opportunity to work with Viettel IDC.

“Working with Viettel IDC, the top data center service provider in Vietnam, aligns with our goal of advancing cloud infrastructure in the region,” he added. “This cooperation will enhance Vietnam’s competitive edge and promote long-term economic and workforce development. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Mr. Louis Nguyen, Chairman and CEO of SAM, expressed confidence in the venture’s potential. “This partnership begins a new phase of growth,” he said. “We are looking forward to showcasing Vietnamese innovation on the global stage and bringing Viettel IDC’s great values to international customers and the regional community.”

Multinational corporations operating within Vietnam often rely on overseas cloud providers, leading to service compromises and higher costs.

This partnership aims to address such issues by developing an offering of scalable computing and storage solutions within the country.

It invests in education, healthcare, F&B, and technology-enabled companies. Its investment banking division provides capital raising and M&A services for high growth companies and projects in Vietnam with sustainable and ESG elements.

Viettel IDC, meanwhile, provides data center and cloud computing services in Vietnam with a diverse service ecosystem.
