Viettel Post recently signed an agreement with the city of Pingxiang in China’s Guangxi province to cooperate in establishing a representative office and building the China-ASEAN agricultural commodities trading center. It previously signed an agreement with the government of Nanning on concentrating cooperation to develop logistics and cross-border trade between Vietnam and China.

These steps are being taken following efforts to implement a logistics infrastructure planning strategy, including a logistics park - center, bonded warehouses, and dry ports to connect raw material areas, agricultural areas, and aquatic products with transportation hubs such as railways, seaports, airports, and border gates to reduce time and cost in goods circulation.

From March 5 to 7, Viettel Post worked closely with the city government and businesses in Guangxi’s capital Nanning and Pingxiang to reach formal agreements.

In Nanning, Viettel Post collaborated with the city government in a bid to become a leading builder of cross-border logistics infrastructure. As the first Vietnamese logistics company to cooperate with local authorities in China to enhance cross-border transportation infrastructure, it aims to optimize logistics costs, reduce transportation time, enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, and improve Vietnam’s logistics position in connecting ASEAN countries and China.

Then, in Pingxiang, Viettel Post reached agreements with businesses on three main points. Firstly, the two sides will efficiently exploit multimodal transportation between road and railway via the Yen Vien commune in Hanoi - Dong Dang commune in Lang Son - Pingxiang - Nanning route. Secondly, they will establish the China-ASEAN agricultural commodities trading center. Thirdly, the parties will exchange knowledge, design, and technology to jointly promote the implementation of smart border gates.

Viettel Post’s completion of cross-border transportation infrastructure will enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods, contribute to resolving congestion and damage issues at border gates, and elevate Vietnam’s logistics position in connecting ASEAN countries and China.
