The committee held a meeting on June 20 to discuss measures to accelerate the project.

The project is set to span a total area of from 210 to 360 ha in coastal Quynh Lap commune, Hoang Mai town.  It will cover various components, including the LNG power plant, gas storage facility, receiving port, breakwater, and auxiliary works.

The receiving port will be capable of accommodating ships with a capacity of up to 100,000 DWT.

Once completed, the electricity generated from the plant will be connected to the 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa power transmission line or, alternatively, considered for connection to the Nghi Son LNG Thermal Power Plant in the neighboring province of Thanh Hoa.

The project is one of 14 LNG plants that are among the list of national important electricity projects with investment priority by 2030.
