Agro-forestry and fishery production grows well in 5M
Total fishery production reaches over 3.6 million tons, including more than 2.64 million tons of fish.

Agricultural production in the first five months of the year recorded positive growth across all three sectors, including agriculture, fishery and forestry, according to the National Statistics Office.
As of May 20, 2025, the whole country cultivated over 2.97 million hectares of winter-spring rice, a year-on-year rise of 17,000 hectares.
In May, 34,300 hectares of concentrated forests were planted, bringing the total area of newly-planted concentrated forests to over 100,000 hectares, up 6.1% compared to the same period last year. Timber production in the five-month period is estimated at nearly 7.8 million cu.m, surging 5.1%.
Regarding the fishery sector, total fisheries production in May reached over 828,000 tons, up 3.4% year-on-year. Of this, aquaculture production reached 455,200 tons, increasing 4.7%, while capture fisheries produced 373,000 tons (+1.8%)
In the first five months of 2025, total fisheries output reached over 3.61 million tons, an increase of 2.9%. This includes more than 2.64 million tons of fish, 429,800 tons of shrimp, and 544,300 tons of other aquatic products.
