The Mekong Delta’s Hau Giang province has approved planning for the development of industrial parks (IPs) and service-urban areas for local IPs in the 2021-2030 period. Ten IPs are on the planning list, with a total area of more than 3,900 ha. There will be six in Chau Thanh district; the largest number in a single locality.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has approved the addition of the Tran Yen Industrial Park in northern Yen Bai province to Vietnam’s development planning for industrial parks. On an area of 339 ha, Tran Yen will focus on attracting investment with modern, environmentally-friendly technologies and using less land and fewer energy resources.

With the establishment of a 300-ha industrial park to support high-tech application, Ho Chi Minh City will form enterprises to design, manufacture, and collaborate to provide products with high-tech applications for supporting industries.

Dong Nai is now undertaking procedures to convert the Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into the Bien Hoa 1 urban, commercial, and service area by the end of 2025.

Vietnam needs to find a new direction to encourage the building of green industrial parks and eco-industrial parks and diversify capital sources to invest in building industrial park infrastructure.

The government has recently approved expansion plans for industrial parks (IPs) around Vietnam. In order to welcome a new wave of foreign investment, however, IPs must adapt to new requirements.

Northern Thai Nguyen province is to build an industrial park (IP) costing VND793 billion ($34.71 million). Expected to come into operation in 2024, the IP will cover an area of 74.8 ha and aims to attract businesses in the fields of manufacturing technology, electronic components, supporting industries, apparel, handicrafts, and other industries.

The Prime Minister has approved the building of infrastructure at an eco-industrial park in northern Hung Yen province with total investment capital of VND1.788 trillion ($76.9 million). On 143 ha, the project is expected to be completed within 36 months.

In cooperation with An Phat Holdings, English fund Actis will invest $20 million into An Phat industrial park (IP) and $250 million into an infrastructure and warehouse project.
