Central bank continues keeping gold prices unchanged
The rate remaining the same for six days in a row.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on June 13 continued to keep the prices of SJC-branded gold bars sold to the four State-commercial banks and the Saigon Jewelry and Germ Stone Co. (SJC) for sale to the public unchanged, as part of measures to stabilize the market.
The gold bars were offered at VND75.98 million ($2,985) per tael.
The price has been kept unchanged for six consecutive days, since June 6.
Accordingly, the gold bars sold to the public on June 13 by the four banks, namely Agribank, BIDV, Vietcombank and Vietinbank, and the SJC remained the same rate of the previous days, at VND76.98 million ($3.024) per tael.
The four banks and the SJC have been solely permitted to directly purchase SJC gold bars from the central bank to sell to the public from June 3.
