Construction of first phase of Long Thanh airport ahead of schedule
Total investment for the first phase estimated at $4.48 billion.
The first runway of Long Thanh International Airport in southern Dong Nai province will be completed two months ahead of construction schedule and expected to be put into technical operation next May, according to the project’s Management Board.
Meanwhile, construction of the airport terminal will be also ahead of schedule by around 10 days.
The runway and the terminal are parts of the first phase of the airport project.
The Long Thanh International Airport will have total investment of an estimated VND336.63 trillion ($13.74 billion), with construction divided into three phases.
The first phase has total investment of nearly VND110 trillion ($4.48 billion), with construction of the passenger terminal and the runway getting underway last August.
The terminal will be able to cater to 25 million passengers and handle 1.2 million tons of cargo a year.
The airport (first phase) is expected to be put into official operation in early June 2026.
