Da Nang authorities ask to accelerate software park project

Authorities of central Da Nang city has asked the city's Management Board of Civil and Industrial Engineering Construction and Investment Projects to take stronger measures to accelerate construction of the Da Nang Software Park No. 2 so as to soon put it into operation.

Covering nearly 29,000 sq m in Hai Chau district, the project has total investment capital of VND1 trillion ($40.8 million) from the city budget.

Construction began in 2020, but the project was temporarily halted due to legal obstacles after completing basic construction and infrastructure.

In April, the Government issued a decree to help remove the legal obstacles for Da Nang to facilitate the construction of the software park.

During a recent visit to the construction site of the project, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang required the municipal Department of Information and Communications to concretize policies to call for businesses to invest in the software park.

Priority should be given to businesses operating in the fields of innovation and semiconductor, he said.

Once fully operational, the park is expected to meet demand for 6,000 jobs relating to information technology and digital products.
