Da Nang establishes semiconductor and AI research center

The Da Nang City People’s Committee announced the establishment of the Da Nang Semiconductor and AI Center (DSAC) for research and training on January 26.

It will conduct research and design training activities in the fields of microchips, semiconductors, and AI development.

The central city’s center will also be responsible for technology transfer, international cooperation, and resources mobilization, as well as for linking and cooperating with domestic and foreign partners to promote research and training in integrated circuits, semiconductor design, and AI development in line with regulations.

The DSAC is to be formed on the basis of reorganizing the Da Nang High-Quality Human Resources Development Center at the Department of Home Affairs.

According to market researchers Technavio, Vietnam’s semiconductor market is estimated to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.5 per cent between 2021 and 2025.
