Central Da Nang city has launched a bidding process for the first package of the Le Thanh Nghi – Cach Mang Thang Tam – Thang Long – Hoa Xuan Bridge intersection complex, according to the Da Nang Management Board for Traffic and Agricultural Construction Projects.

The project has a total investment exceeding VND1.57 trillion ($60.12 million), fully funded by the city’s budget.

The first package seeks a consultant firm to conduct feasibility study for the project, with an estimated value of VND4.9 billion ($186,000).

The  bidding process marks a key initial step in the implementation of one of the city’s most significant traffic infrastructure projects.

The project aims to alleviate traffic congestion during peak hours at the Hoa Xuan Bridge intersection, enhance traffic capacity, and ensure road safety for commuters across the area.

According to the approved plan, the existing Hoa Xuan Bridge will be preserved, while a new parallel bridge will be built downstream.

Key upgrades include underpasses along Cach Mang Thang Tam and Thang Long streets, featuring frontage roads on both sides; widening of Le Thanh Nghi Street; and construction of a new riverside road beneath Hoa Xuan Bridge, connecting Giang Huong 1 Street to Ton That Duong Ky Street.

The project is scheduled for implementation between 2025 and 2029.
