Da Nang looking to attract investment in high technology, seaports and aviation
Central city has prepared land reserves, human resources, and supporting mechanisms for investors, participants at Meet Da Nang 2024 hear.
Central Da Nang city will focus on attracting investment in sectors where it holds strengths, such as high technology, seaports, aviation, smart cities, innovation, and digital information, according to Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh.
Speaking at the Meet Da Nang 2024 event on January 26, Mr. Chinh said the city has prepared land reserves, abundant human resources, and outstanding supporting mechanisms for investors.
It stands ready to welcome partners and investors and will create favorable conditions for businesses to cooperate, invest, and operate effectively in the city, he said.
The event was held to introduce the city’s strengths, integration policies, and development priorities in the future and to serve as a venue for partners to share their viewpoints and expectations for the city.
Following the opening plenary session, delegates attended two discussions, on how to facilitate resources for international cooperation to boost socio-economic development, and on Da Nang’s readiness to welcome new waves of investment.
The People’s Committee and local agencies signed MoUs with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the US Agency for International Development (USAID), and large businesses such as Synopsys International Limited and Intel.
Da Nang also handed over an investment license to KP Aero Industries Co., Ltd from South Korea, which will invest in an aircraft component factory project worth $20 million.
