Da Nang opens key transport projects
Total investment in three projects opened to traffic estimated at $100 million.
Central Da Nang city opened three major transport projects on January 30, including a section of the Western Ring Road No. 2, Provincial Road No. 601, and District Road No 2.
The three projects have total investment capital of over VND2.4 trillion ($100 million).
Construction of the 4.6-km section of the Western Ring Road No. 2 started in December 2019, linking National Road No. 8 at the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park to the bypass road of the Hai Van - Tuy Loan Expressway.
The project will contribute to improving the city’s main transportation network and shorten the time needed to transport goods from the northern area to the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park.
Construction of District Road No. 2 got underway in October 2018. It has a total length of 8.92 km and a speed limit of 50 kph, running parallel to a bypass road from the south of Hai Van Tunnel to Tuy Loan, connecting residential areas in Hoa Son commune with the Hoa Vang district administrative center.
It will help ease traffic congestion on the bypass from the south of Hai Van Tunnel to Tuy Loan, and improve overall safety in the area.
Construction of the 35.68-km Provincial Road No. 601, meanwhile, kicked off in May 2020. It is the main traffic axis in the north - south direction, connecting traffic and facilitating travel in the region while boosting local socio-economic development.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh said these are key transport projects that contribute to boosting socio-economic development to the west of the city.
