Da Nang proposes 10 locations for free trade zone
The zone featuring three functional areas covering production, port logistics, and trade-services.
Authorities of Da Nang have proposed a number of locations for the establishment of a free trade zone in the central city.
The free trade zone is part of a resolution on piloting some specially-designed mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang that was adopted by the National Assembly on June 26.
The zone will feature three functional areas covering production, port logistics, and trade-services.
The city has proposed ten locations for the establishment of the free trade zone.
The first location, to be planned for logistics area, will cover an area of about 100ha behind the Lien Chieu Seaport (west of Lien Chieu Industrial Park) in Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district.
The second, to be planned for logistics area also, will cover an area of about 100ha along the Nam Hai Van bypass (east of Lien Chieu IP).
The third, planned to be a production area, will be a zone of about 400ha north of Cu De River in Hoa Vang district.
The fourth will have a total area of 559ha to be used as a production zone, including 259ha of the Da Nang High-Tech Park and 300ha of the expanded Da Nang High-Tech Park.
The fifth location will cover a 90-ha area at the foot of Ba Na mountain in Hoa Ninh commune, planned to be a commercial - service zone.
The sixth will be areas on both sides of the Ba Na - Suoi Mo route adjacent to Truoc Dong Lake to the northeast, with an area of about 154ha in Hoa Vang district, planned to be a commercial - service zone.
The seventh will also be on both sides of Ba Na - Suoi Mo route, adjacent to Truoc Dong Lake to the southwest with an area of about 53ha in Hoa Nhon commune, planned to be a commercial - service zone.
The eighth will be in the planned area of the Hoa Nhon IP with an area of about 200ha. It is scheduled for logistics services.
The ninth will be southwest of Da Nang International Airport with an area of about 80ha, planned to be a logistics zone.
The tenth is expected to cover 420ha, formed by reclaiming land along the coast of Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to Da Nang Bay - a section from Nguyen Sinh Sac Street to the border of Da Phuoc International Urban Area. It is planned as trade and services area.
The above-mentioned locations are all next to convenient traffic routes and hubs and have favorable conditions for early implementation.
